Rockland House offers a restaurant with mixed reviews, consistently praised for quality meats and a generous salad bar, but occasionally plagued by inconsistencies in food preparation and service. Recent stays highlight a clean and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, though some guests noted outdated decor and price increases.

3.9 review. I think one reviewer wrote about the odor. My wife said the same thing. The crackers and cheese can be done away with. Bad crackers. The soup was very good. The salad bar is nice. The trout we ate was very good. But the baked potato was not steaming hot and was wrinkled in appearance. I would like to try a steak, but for the price, it is too much because the carpet and the decor is so outdated. It needs a new life. Get rid of that carpet and sand the floors. Waitress was very good.

All three of us had a terrific dinner at Rockland House tonight. They serve a cheese appetizer, have a soup, salad and bread bar, and the steaks were fantastic. We all had the cowboy steak and it was cooked perfectly. The service was great as well. Thanks Paige for taking such great care of us. We will definitely be back

Worst food and service I have ever had in my life. The waitress was so unattentive to us. The prime rib was pan seared and tested like it was days old. My wife got the seafood special that was far from special. The sauce tasted like pasta water. The waitress came with to go tins and we said no but she never asked how our meal was. We barely ate our food. I would never go back

Kayla signed me in was a wonderful experience. She was friendly and professional. My room was clean and I noticed personal touches with soaps and towels.. my roast beef sandwich was outstanding for dinner and I appreciated your kindnesses. I brought my dog and it was so pleasant. I had never stayed in a hotel by myself, but was reassured I was safe and explained my wonderful neighbors. The scenery was spectacular and the grounds were meticulously kept. Thank you!

The restaurant was terrible. Service was great. Our waitress “Sam” was the best. I ordered a smothered New York strip steak and most of it was inedible. Filled with chewy grizzle and fat. Terrible cut of beef.

We were here on 5/27/24. The service was fine. The prices were greatly increased from the prior year. The salad bar was very mediocre compared to other years. My husband ordered a double shot of vodka in a ginger ale. Well there wasn’t any vodka in the drink. We both sat there and tried to slowly drink it and hoping for any hint of alcohol. There was none. Between the decreased quality and the fact they obviously tried to rip us off on the drink, I won’t be going back. We paid $65 for nothing and never got a meal. Will never go back.

This review is for the restaurant. We’ve been coming to this restaurant for almost 3 decades, many times whenever we come to upstate. Food has been so good every time, except this time. But they cooked NY strip again and it was perfect. Their salad bar, prime rib, NY strip, chicken parm… everything is good. We have so much memories at Rockland house and will still be our favorite restaurant in Roscoe.
