We're at the murder mystery for christmas. The food was horrible , they walked around with shrimp and toothpicks from the frozen food section. We had vegetarians and they had nothing for them other than baked potatoes and string beans. We paid for a table for six and sat with 4 strangers who were thankfully very nice. We had to share food with them though and we don't know each other. That was very weird to me. We sat on plastic chairs and very uncomfortable. There was only one bathroom. Hardly any parking. Other than that we had to bring our own drinks. They had no drinks other than soda or water. I had a great time with my friends because we make the best of everything but don't waste your money . 12/14 As a guest that was not the one who made the arrangements I didnt receive any emails. I just paid for my ticket. And yes my friends were super cool , hence why we're all friends. They would never apologize for my mood bc were not that kind of group that talks behind each other's back. My friend wanted to tip you bc whenever she gets drunks she becomes friends with everyone and does that. Also you just admitted to the main dinner and appetizer being meat. They ate bread, sting beans and a potato. One person didnt eat anything bc of how uncomfortable she was. You wouldn't know that bc she stayed walking around talking to everyone. We all went to eat out after by the way. And in regards to my mood , I didnt say anything to you, I stayed quiet. Your website with the description of the night and what to expect is misleading. Also insulting one of your paying guests is not a good look on you. Everyone is allowed there own opinion and mine in regards to your establishment is valid. Yours about my mood and my friends is a lie.

Here today for their Ghosts of Christmas Past 2025 event. We toured the inn, had the opportunity to purchase some holiday gifts, enjoyed some tasty treats, and heard many a story of the paranormal at Burn Brae. This was a heavily trafficed event and at times it did feel like just too many people but it was fun despite the cramped quarters.

The Halloween kids walk through forest was fun and engaging. They had a food truck and an animated band playing Halloween music. Would have been 5 stars if they had mentioned how it worked with different groups going at different times.

The Dark Forest at Burn Brae Mansion Review 2025 We returned to brave the Dark Forest that surrounds Burn Brae Mansion. This year the bizarre and freakish experiments of the infamous Dr. Moreau have been unleashed upon this land. Weird and unusual creatures await you in this dark place. Every manner of Animal/Human monstrosity is here, trying to pull you into this place they home. There are also other surprises along the way besides these mutant beasts that pop out, jump up or drop on you. Overall this is a fun and creative trail set in a naturally creepy environment. The main area in contrast is a warm, welcoming area with live music, fire pits, and delicious homemade hot chocolate and treats. We always enjoy hanging out here before and after our turn through The Dark Forest. This event is always a good time. It is family friendly in a relaxed Halloween themed atmosphere for an extremely reasonable price. We look forward to seeing what they have planned for next year. The Dark Forest at Burn Brae Mansion Haunted Attraction Review: The remains of an Apocalyptic event take over the winding trails here. This was a surprisingly great experience with perfectly timed and hidden scares throughout. There are also a number of unexpected startling spots, including one with a bridge that really got us. The Apocalyptic theme works perfectly within the dark woods setting. The actors were very believable in their roles and were menacing at points. The main area before you go out the trail is incredibly invited and has a warm country Halloween charm with its homemade food vendor and live music. We hung out for about an hour after going through to enjoy the fire, food and music. Overall we highly recommend this hidden gem of a Haunt nestled on the grounds of the Burn Brae Mansion, we look forward to see what they will devise next year as well.

I can't say anything bad about this place! I've stayed 3 times, twice in the motel, and once in the mansion, and we all had an absolute blast! My friends weren't the quietest people either, and Mike and Pat had absolutely no issues with us. They had ghost investigation equipment that the guest could use all night if you wanted to. They also have a paranormal investigation guide, but when we stayed, it was during their Halloween haunted woods event, so they were all helping with that. After the event, the workers that help out with the Mansion invited us all to hang out around the fire down near the motel and woods. Breakfast and dinner were great as well. We even watched the Yankees World Series game in the TV room with owner Mike. Once you get to know them, they feel like family. Another great stay this past weekend! We're going to try and make it a yearly trip. Although I definitely want to make one of their murder mystery weekends. If you are into the paranormal and are ok with staying overnight, not really knowing what you'll experience, it's definitely worth checking it out for a night or two. Absolutely beautiful country as well. Very close to Hawks Nest Lookout off scenic Rt 97.

So forget what you've heard or read about this place. You want awesome inn keepers, done. You want a beautifully restored mansion, done. You want a place to investigate without disappointment or exaggerated claims done. This is a location that's beautiful, reasonable, and very accessible. Pat and Mike, the owners, are just wonderfully awesome people. An overnight investigation comes with a home cooked meal and a breakfast. What other locations do that, and I'm not just talking donuts and coffee. This place is a gem, a great location, and the perfect owners of a location like this. You have to put it on your list of places to investigate. We will be back in the spring, Pat and Mike, we had an amazing time. Thanks for the hospitality and stories.

An interesting piece of history! This amazing property is filled with curiosities & oddities and owned by a wonderful family that all have extraordinary backgrounds themselves. A wonderful event space, weekend getaway or fun night out to participate in a Murder Mystery Dinner there is something for every one. Looking forward to our next visit!
