The North Branch Inn is a highly-rated boutique hotel and restaurant praised for its exceptional food, warm hospitality, and charming atmosphere. Guests consistently rave about the delicious meals prepared by Chef Jake, the attentive service, and the overall memorable experience, particularly for weddings and special occasions. While some reviews mention a potential issue with overly salty dishes, the overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights a truly special and refined getaway.
We were in the area for a May wedding. Simple accomodations apporopriate for a rural historic inn suited us two elders perfectly. The food was an unexpected delight! Inventive, simple, well-prepared with quality beyond expectations. The owners made us feel truely welcomed. We enjoyed some early morning birding and a walkabout to see the architecture and imagine the local history. The nearby Cider Mill offered some interesting gifts and foodstuffs.
We had the extreme pleasure of having dinner this past Friday (April 10) at the North Branch Inn. We have a weekend house in nearby Hortonville and had visited the NBI a few years back prior to the current ownership/chef taking over, but had not been back since. We're so glad we finally returned !! In short, my wife and I were absolutely blown away by our meal !! First, the NBI is a very charming and cozy place and the service (shout out to Jocelin) all evening was super attentive and extremely friendly. We split Pork Agnolotti as a starter and it was very savory and cooked to perfection. We each had a separate entree: Faroe Island Salmon and the hefty Pork Chop on the bone. Again, both were incredibly flavorful !! All of this was accompanied by an excellent Chotes du Rhone and for dessert a decadent chocolate cake with a crackly and caramelized homemade toffee...superb !! After dinner we had the serendipitous pleasure to meet and chat with Jake Eberle, the incredible chef of the NBI. He could not have been nicer. It was one of the best meals we have had in quite some time and reminded us both of a wonderful Michelin star restaurant we had the good fortune to dine in when we were in Nola, Italy in 2023. We can't wait to go back to the North Branch Inn and are giddy that it's only 10 minutes from our place. They also host parties and weddings and all sorts of events so stay the weekend...but make sure you dine as well !!!!
Review of restaurant. Lovely atmosphere. The waiter was super nice. But...some of the food was so salty it was inedible. Other parts of the meal were delish. Chill out in the salt. Too much salt ruins the food, not to mention it's really not good for health. Why not lightly salt and let patrons add more they want.
My fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary here recently and we had such a special, memorable weekend at the North Branch Inn. We ended up eating dinner there both nights in their cozy, lively restaurant with great music. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious and high quality (including the chef-made breakfast included in your stay). Chef Jake is a master! We also loved sipping cocktails by the fire and playing cards, and even had a dip in the hot tub. The rooms were spacious and warm, with fluffy towels and bathrobes. Caroline and the staff are so accommodating and kind, even provided homemade cookies to welcome us in our room! Highly recommend for a cozy winter getaway!
As a local Fly Fishing Guide I’ve recommended The North Branch Inn to many of my guests and only ever heard phenomenal feedback about every part of their stay. We frequent the restaurant and it’s an absolute gem in our little part of the world. The menu is always adjusting based on fresh ingredients and I’ve never found a dish I didn’t rave about afterwards.
My daughter’s wedding was this October, and everything was just spectacular. Every guest loved the food and couldn’t stop raving! The accommodations were lovely. The location was just perfect for an autumn wedding. Hats off to Caroline and Jake for running an awesome wedding weekend that felt so homey. The delicious breakfast in the morning was the cherry on top. Highly recommend.
We LOVE the North Branch! My husband and I had our wedding there in September 2025 and we’re still obsessing over it. Caroline and Jake run a cozy and inviting inn that always exceeds our expectations. From the decor to the food we feel right at home with friends here. The service is always on point with all of the waitstaff being attentive and friendly. The drinks are always changing and we love tasting all of the bartenders favorites. Our wedding planning was smooth and very thought out with the help of Caroline who never misses a beat. From the signature drinks to the cake we would give it 100 stars if we could. Jake’s food is delicious and one of our top reasons why we wanted to have our wedding here. The thoughtfulness that goes into the menu and quality food won our hearts.
2 weeks ago my daughter and son-in-law exchanged vows at The North Branch Inn. Aside from the most beautiful weekend weather wise, the attention to detail, the charmingly rustic ambiance, and most importantly, Caroline and Jake are what made the weekend truly special. Jake’s food is delicious. Caroline’s hospitality is warm and familial. The grounds are stunning. Every guest had a smile on their face, enjoying the beautiful setting at The Inn. Thank you Caroline and Jake for making a special weekend truly outstanding!
I had my wedding here recently, and it was the most perfect weekend. My family and friends gushed about Jake's food, from the breakfast to the dinner right down to the delicious Citrus Fruit Pavlova. Caroline was a tremendous help during the planning process and made the whole thing run smoothly. I can't wait to spend future anniversaries here and recommend it to all my loved ones. The vibes were immaculate, felt so cozy and warm. It might have had something to do with starting the wedding weekend off with warm chocolate chip cookies in our room!
Our stay at The North Branch Inn was nothing short of exceptional. The entire experience felt refined and sophisticated—from the luxurious linens and thoughtfully chosen bath products to the exquisite three-course breakfasts and four-course dinners prepared by the on-site chef. Every detail was carefully considered, creating an atmosphere that was straight out of a magazine. The vibe was effortlessly chic and cozy, with jazz music filling the bar and dining room, making it feel like stepping onto the set of a Wes Anderson film. Caroline, the owner, was absolutely superb. Her warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made our stay truly memorable and perfect. We left already planning our return—not only to stay again but also to come back just for dinner and to soak in the impeccable ambiance. A true gem!
