Villa Roma Resort is a family-friendly destination with an unbeatable location in the Hudson Valley, offering a diverse range of activities for children and adults. However, the property shows significant deferred maintenance, with guests frequently reporting dated rooms, dirty facilities, and under-staffing issues. Approaching with realistic expectations regarding the age of the facilities is recommended.
You know its a terrible place when all they have is barefoot wine from the gas station. It was outdated, understaffed and not helpful, smelled moldy in room and in the hallways, found bugs in bedroom, you can hear every sound outside of your room including your neighbors TV, many amenities don't happen, broken or closed. Bring cash if you plan on doing anything. Don't trust the website list of activities. We left 2 days earlier in our 4 day stay. Staff didn't bother to ask why cause they know they on a sinking ship. Not worth the price and honestly why hasn't the health inspection closed down this place yet?
I went here for my senior trip, i loved it here. the rooms were a little outdated but we were outside most of the time. i really liked it the food wasnt bad but it was good. overall i really liked eveyrthing here and honestly would go.
The rooms are a bit rustic, but completely functional and clean. I stayed in the timeshares within an efficiency kitchen and a small deck overlooking the resort. When this place was in a heyday, I’m sure it was amazing. However, there’s quite a bit of differed maintenance. The bowling alley, racket sports area and arcade area are in shambles. The location is key as it’s in the center of just about everything and you can do anything from fly fishing the sightseeing to skiing from this location. If you have somebody new to skiing , it’s a perfect hill. reasonably priced, not packed and perfect for younger children to learn.
This is a review for the SKI. The mountain, though small, was very convenient and enjoyable for us. We stayed in a nearby cabin, so we decided to visit. The prices were reasonable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside was the female teenager staff at the ski rental, who was a bit rude. Apart from that, everything else was great.
We dont know where to begin but I guess about 40 years ago when my parents would go every year. At that time it was small, just a large house with a beautiful porch. As time went on the time share buildings were built and my parents bought 2 weeks. I went with my parents, my young children, my sister and her children. What wonderful family memories, what wonderful people who became friends. The same week, same families, same unit. Marty was always there greeting his guests. As the years went on, other family members also bought the time share. Even as my girls became teenagers, they looked forward to going and seeing their friends for another wonderful summer! Well those days are over and when my husband and I decided on going back just to reminisce, what a shock! Marty has passed away and Villa Roma has been sold! What a complete disaster is all i can say but memories of the Villa Roma that we once knew will remain with us!
Spent three nights with family of 17. One room had a broken bed which was not exchanged until the last night. One room had black mold in the bathroom and black moid came out of the jetted tub. Handicapped room was up a steep incline and had a two inch step into the room which was not marked. I fell and got hurt. Cafe was out of most food items. In dining room the Pork Oso Busso was not fresh. Ketchup was tainted and removed from the table. The pool. arcade and ski chalet were nice. Staff was very good. Bingo fun.
A terrible place! From the parking lot down the icy road with no lights, to the broken bed they refused to fix. I can’t believe this place is still in business. There was not one positive thing about this place. No soap, shampoo, conditioner, no phone in the room to call down. When asked about it, was told “it’s an ongoing problem.” The shows were absolutely terrible, and the food was rancid. At one point had the waiter run to the table yelling “don’t eat that!!!” When we tried the cafe in the resort half the menu items were not available because they didn’t order their shipment. The worst place I’ve ever been to.
This is my family’s second time going to the Villa Roma. We had a great first experience three years ago and we wanted to come back again! It was wonderful!! Pros: there’s a lot to do: snow tubing, swimming, skiing, bowling, gym, bocce, bouncy houses, table tennis, and so much more. There is an ice cream shop, bar area, game room, arcade… so many spaces and things to do. If you are here with the all-inclusive package, then everything is included. It’s honestly amazing. The food was our favorite part; it is absolutely delicious. You get to enjoy a 5 course meal every single night! Fresh eggs are made to order for breakfast and you have your option for your appetizer, entree, and dessert at dinner… there is something for everyone. The wait staff is the best. Semi-Cons: The resort needs updating. Things are dated, but everything is functional. Our room was dated, but everything worked and we had no problems. It’s not the biggest problem in the world. You will still have so much fun! Cons: The temperature of the resort needs work. The game room and the forum were very cold and we had to wear our jackets at all times. There seems to be a lack of communication between the person making the daily schedule and the rest of the staff. There was one event that staff did not know was happening in the fitness center, and nothing was set up for it. We love the Villa Roma and will definitely be back!
Needs to be upgraded. The place is clean. Food was good. The room key is an actual metal key. We enjoyed watching the deer roam the property. Being here November first wasn't the best time of year. It was chilly.
My family and I recently took a day trip to this beautiful resort for a family photoshoot. Even just for the day, the atmosphere was wonderful. We used the stunning fountain as a backdrop for our pictures, and they turned out beautifully—it makes for a truly elegant setting. While we didn't stay overnight, it was clear that the resort offers a wide range of activities for all ages. I'd love to return for a full stay, especially to experience it during the winter season!
