Seminary Hill Lodgings consistently receives high praise for its stunning views, particularly during sunset and from the taproom. Guests rave about the atmosphere, food, and attentive staff, frequently highlighting it as a perfect venue for weddings and special events. However, some reviewers have expressed concerns regarding inconsistent food quality and service speed, particularly during peak times.
This is one of our favorite restaurants upstate, we always make sure to stop by. The view is breathtaking and the food and drinks are consistently delicious. Our server Jess was attentive and welcoming when we were here last, looking forward to our next visit!
Such a cool place! The atmosphere is rustic and elevated, and the staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Mark gave an excellent tour, and Danielle and Ally were absolutely fantastic servers. Would definitely recommend checking it out if you get the chance!
We recently got married here, and it was truly the perfect venue for our intimate wedding ceremony and reception. The space is absolutely beautiful, with a wonderful mix of indoor and outdoor areas that made the day feel both elegant and relaxed. The onsite wedding coordinator was exceptional—organized, attentive, and incredibly helpful—making the entire planning process feel seamless and stress-free. We also hosted our welcome party at the Callicoon Theater in town, which was a huge hit. The views were incredible, and our guests loved exploring the area and taking everything in. The food throughout the weekend was delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests. We couldn’t have imagined a better setting for our wedding weekend and are so grateful for such a memorable experience.
Seminary Hill was the perfect venue for our wedding. Tara and her team were amazing - they were quick to respond to our questions and incredibly helpful throughout the planning process. The views from their outdoor ceremony space were absolutely stunning, and the indoor reception areas were beautifully decorated and spacious. Our friends and family cannot stop raving about the delicious food as well, which we 100% recommend getting the venison! The day was perfectly coordinated by their staff, and everything went off without a hitch. We also had friends and family stay during the weekend at the Boarding House and other houses through Seminary Hill. Ronni and her team were extremely quick to respond and take amazing care of the gorgeous rooms/houses. We are so grateful to Seminary Hill for helping to make our special day truly unforgettable!
First time dining here last night with my boyfriend and we were disappointed… It was 5:30pm and it was slow so you would think the staff would provide great service. The food took a little while and it wasn’t that warm. I got the steak and it was good but small portions for a $40 steak. The staff were making themselves drinks from the bar and sitting in the other room and we had to get up to go pay at the bar because no one came over to us with our bill. Beautiful place to dine in but staff need to be better.
I held my 40th birthday party here and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The food was amazing (I am still thinking about the fried chicken!) and the staff was lovely. Special shout out to Stacey who helped me plan a spectacular event from start to finish!!
Danielle is the best and we love Seminary Hill. Amazingly tonight we caught the most beautiful sunset from their giant windows. The scenery is insane and the ciders are so tasty. Check out happy hour - you'll be glad you did.
Wow — Seminary Hill was the absolute dream wedding venue. From start to finish, they went above and beyond to make our day feel personal, seamless, and truly unforgettable. The setting itself is gorgeous, but what made it exceptional was the people. Tara, Ronni, and John (along with the entire team) were so attentive, kind, and detail-oriented. They made the planning process so smooth and handled every element with care and professionalism. On the day of, everything ran perfectly, and we felt so supported the entire time. The food was phenomenal — we’re still hearing from guests about how delicious everything was (especially the mashed potatoes — apparently the best anyone’s ever had!). Our guests loved staying at the boarding house and were so well taken care of! Seminary Hill exceeded all our expectations and gave us the most perfect day imaginable.
We went for brunch and dinner. Views are amazing and our servers were wonderful and did their best. Food was another story. It was hit or miss and took forever to come out. Each visit it took over an hour for food to come after ordering. It really did depends on whose cooking as mentioned by the gentleman from the garage sale who across the street. The cinnamon bun was really good, it's must order. The biscuit and gravy was a miss, it came out really cold. It's biscuit and gravy, it should be warm at least! This was also the same at dinner, chicken was tender and well flavored. The burger was not good, it came out cold! Like I mentioned above, it really does depends on whose cooking. Not sure why though. Also, our apple dessert was missing shortbread and felt like it was microwave apple with ice cream. Also, it had a small scoop of ice cream where as the table next to us got free ice cream and a massive scoop.
The food was AMAZING! Very friendly atmosphere and the most delicious food I’ve had in a while. The chicken was juicy and crispy with amazing gravy that I wanted to mop up with a biscuit! The grilled peach with vanilla ice cream was out of this world and the crab apple sorbet was a refreshing delight. 10/10
