Rest Co. offers a tranquil escape in the Catskills, boasting a pool, sauna, and relaxing outdoor spaces. While guests appreciate the property’s charm, spacious rooms, and dog-friendly atmosphere, recurring concerns involve inconsistent service levels, limited amenities, and disruptions due to the high volume of dogs on the property. Recent reviews suggest a decline in some aspects of the experience.

This hotel's greatest assets are its outdoor pool, sauna, and outdoor deck with tables and a fire pit. The rooms themselves are just ok; they could use some maintenance. What was beyond the pale was the food and service. The food was some of the worst we've ever had: no locally sourced ingredients, no flavor, no congruence. Just bad. The poor server was nice but had no clue what she was doing. The staff was minimal to nonexistent. On our last morning, there was no coffee or breakfast because there was no one to serve it. Sad that a place that was designed and built with care now seems to be in the hands of an Airbnb investor who isn't around and apparently doesn't care. UPDATE: The hotel's responses to this review ...what a bad way to treat guests and run a business. We briefly stored a bottle of wine we brought with us in a fridge at the bar; we couldn't find a single person to ask where we could keep this cool while we swam for 10 mins. So we did the best we could given the nonexistent help. We picked out about 5 or 6 flowers to make a tiny bouquet from a field that was many, many feet away from the property's fence. The fact that the hotel chose to even say this and respond this way is so disappointing and lacking in integrity. Also creepy.

I reserved this place for the location and a small swimming pool. Both were very satisfactory. There are other nice features like a pit fire in the evening, spaciousness of the property. The land is very well tendered to. The cottage which boasts two bedrooms, which is what we needed and a kitchenette was good, but only for a couple who need one bedroom. The stair to the upstairs bedroom is very steep, and for the price the kitchenette should be much better supplied. Every area inside the cottage needs an upgrade. Good service, good attitude, beautiful area. Overall we did have a chance to rest and enjoy ourselves at the Rest. Thank you!

Had a nice little weekend getaway in the Catskills. Stayed at RestCo which is super charming, quiet and conveniently located where all the nice little shops, cafes and restaurants are. Nothing more than a 20 minute drive from everything. It's dog friendly with a nice sized pool and a restaurant on site with pretty decent food. Would stay again and bring/recommend to friends.

Just returned from a restful and relaxing 2 days stay. Arrived to find that we had been upgraded to the cottage. Such a lovely surprise. The pictures will show you how spacious the place is. They also left us breakfast for our stay which I didn’t realize was included (bagels, yogurt, fruits, OJ, and water). We were grateful and happy that we didn’t have go out for breakfast and instead just sit around and enjoy the property. The kitchen in the cottage had everything you need to cook. The large deep tub was a nice touch (located in the bedroom but in its separate space), although we didn’t get to try it. The robes were so cozy. If you prefer a soft bed and pillows, you’ll be happy. The pool and (they provided pool towels) and fire pit (made s’mores, which were provided for us) were great. Overall, throughly enjoyed our time there and would highly recommend for anyone wanting some peace and quiet. I can’t give a review on the restaurant since it was closed during our stay. Really would have love to try the food. Hopefully next time. Thank you Rest Co!

Found this hidden gem while scrolling on TikTok and I’m so glad that I did. Brought my fiancé and our 2 fur babies here to celebrate their birthdays. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Water pressure was great and hot. Loved the heated pool and sauna!!! Bartender was a sweet heart and made delicious drinks. Dinner was delicious!!! Fur babies loved being able to run around. Place was very quiet and private. Will 100% be back.

We had a great experience. The bartender was super friendly, made wonderful cocktails and gave us some great suggestions for things to do in town. The chef did a fantastic job. The space was cute, cozy and very clean. My dog loved running freely outside. I truly enjoyed the heated pool it was great and I braved the cold cold weather but the pool was wonderful. I look forward to booking with them again.

My fiancé and I had a fabulous weekend getaway from the city. The hotel was adorable and perfect for a simple weekend. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The staff was nice and the other guests were fine. The pool outside and the sauna were great. The drive was close to towns with lots to do like in Livingston Manor and Jeffersonville and Roscoe. We went during a snow storm which was fine but getting to and from the hotel was a bit challenging. So be mindful of this when driving. The service was pretty good but it’s quiet. No new towels or making of the beds day to day- things like that. It’s quaint! The bar wasn’t open for a drink on Sunday evening- things like that. If you want an easy and quiet- mostly self serviced get a way- this is the place for you! Only one couple had brought their dog so we didn’t have any dog issues.

I stayed here recently and really enjoyed the big tub offered in my room. The shower was clean and the bed was nice. However, there were a few issues in the lack of basic amenities in the room. No microwave, plates or utensils were provided, despite there being a mini fridge. Which implies a need for food and beverage storage. I stayed for a couple days and brought my own food. I did not anticipate going out for every meal. I wanted to save money and bring some of my own stuff. I inquired about a microwave, which was in the kitchen area of the hotel. Not a big deal to go downstairs, but considering the conditions were not great outside, it wasn’t always possible to run out to the lobby. The walkways were very icy. Also, the garbage provided was extremely small. Housekeeping never came during my visit, so it piled up very quickly. These are just a few simple things that I feel could be improved upon for other visitors. Especially those that are staying for more than a weekend like I did. Other than those small discrepancies, I had a good visit. I really enjoyed the pool and the sauna.

Rooms are clean and staff was very nice. I think the rooms are over priced for what is offered (we had everything we needed-your basic hotel room). The place is nestled in a pretty, quiet spot in the woods. There are fire places and a pool. Breakfast is included.

I booked the cottage for my birthday weekend with my sister, a friend, and my two dogs so they could enjoy some time away from the city to run around. Let me start by saying this place is truly magical. Chris was beyond accommodating and helpful, and makes great cocktails, too! The cottage was absolutely perfect! One star off only because I really wish there were stricter rules in place regarding dogs. Shortly after we checked in, another couple arrived and completely took over the fenced pool area with their two off-leash dogs. Unfortunately, one of their dogs was not friendly. When I tried to bring my dogs out to enjoy the space, theirs became aggressive and essentially bullied mine out. I had to urgently ask the owner to grab his dogs so I could safely get mine out of the way. For context, I also have a reactive dog — but I was mindful of that and only let her out with my other dog when the space was empty. If other dogs came out, I immediately brought her back inside to avoid any issues. It was frustrating that the other owners weren’t equally considerate, and it made it difficult to enjoy the area as intended. Because of this, I was only able to enjoy the fenced-in pool area, which is meant to be a dog-friendly space, for half a day. Once that couple arrived, the area was unusable for us. It even got to the point where I had to politely ask them if I could have a little time in the yard without their dogs present, just so mine could have a chance to be off leash. I understand the purpose of the fenced area, but all guests pay good money to stay here and should be able to enjoy it equally, not worry that other dogs may be aggressive. Owners should certainly take responsibility, but when they don’t, the resort needs clearer parameters or enforcement in place for situations when multiple guests have dogs. This issue put a damper on my trip, since my main reason for booking was to give my dogs space to be safely off leash outdoors while I relaxed by the pool, not to be stuck inside.
