The Stickett Inn offers a unique and charming experience with a focus on a cozy atmosphere and friendly hospitality. Recent guests have praised the welcoming staff, delightful cider, and convenient location near Barryville Oasis. However, there are concerns regarding cleanliness and value, particularly based on older reviews.
Such a cozy spot — the vibe is amazing. The bartender was super friendly and welcoming, great energy all around, and the drinks were absolutely excellent.
We were driving from Pittsburgh and received notification last minute that our room down the street at a different business was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. The owner there had a backup plan immediately upon calling and spoke with Johnny here to make sure we were taken care of. Johnny met us at check in and was able to accommodate our group (4 adults, 1 kid, 2 dogs) in the cottage. Brought us cider as well. Place was charming in an eclectic way. Thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and grounds as well as the cafe down the street along the Delaware River. What started as a chaotic drive learning we had no place to stay turned into a very fun experience. Happy little accident we stumbled upon! Thanks a million for accommodating us!
Stayed two nights for our wedding anniversary. Originally booked into SOAK but switched to STEAM the second night because the AC upstairs was having trouble coping with the heat. Our hosts were very helpful and accommodating with the switch, which was super appreciated! Both rooms were charming , exactly what we expected. Walking distance to some charming places to eat and drink, and a short drive to the grocery store for provisions. Definitely looking forward to booking a future visit, and thanks again for accommodating our change request.
My girlfriend and I loved the Soak room, the only issue was not having a way to control the Air conditioner, it said you control through the television but we never figured out how.
Self check in after a long drive from the city. The "Steam" room we stayed in was lovely and the backyard is very cute. Wish I'd had more time to use the hot tub.
My girlfriend and I stayed here over the weekend and we loved it! The suite were unique. We had booked SOAK, but the room was a little too warm for us; with the 90+ weather outside it was hard for the AC to keep up. Fortunately, we were able to be moved downstairs to STEAM and the suite was awesome! The steam shower was so nice and so was having a door to the porch. The coffee shop right next door was nice, but the real highlight was the Barryville Oasis! The Stickett Inn cider was really good especially the green tea berry? (forgot the fruit, but still good!) AND they had nice N/A options and mocktails. I’d definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re looking for a cool experience that’s not uppity an hotel. Perfect for a getaway by the river!
We shared the below privately with Johnny at the Inn and received no response. While we loved the area, we strongly feel our stay was not worth what we paid for. The room wasn’t well cleaned or maintained, the floors had wrappers, dust everywhere, no cover on the duvet which was stained, there is peeling paint and wallpaper. We chose to pay more to have a room with a kitchen, and there were no basics like salt pepper oil at the very least, or sponges or cutting boards beyond a melted plastic one. It seems they are also cutting corners with no garbage bags, no extra toilet paper (we ran out and took a backup from another room), not to mention the highly advertised “Malin and Goetz products” (plural) which was one bar of soap— they mention this brand everywhere. When we requested shampoo and conditioner, it was never brought to us. The “staff” is not responsive or even present, much less attentive. We were just really disappointed, if we were also cutting corners we would have chosen to stay at a cheaper place where we weren’t expecting a $275 per night value, or other places we’ve stayed where this price is reflected in the cleanliness, attentive staff, etc. We are pretty low key, I’ve never left a review like this, but for this price we strongly think the inn misses the mark and feel basically scammed.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! While the place has a kitschy theme, good intention and may seem trendy and comfortable from the pictures, it's FAR from it. We paid over $500 for 2 nights and couldn't wait to leave. Even if the room was under $100/night we would feel the same way, although paying such a high price made it sting even more. Our room had many issues...no closet or dressers for clothes, hooks were broken in the bathroom, the bathroom sink and shower drains didn't work properly, windows don't open, the room was VERY musty and we found black mold in the AC unit and on the bed pillows. DISGUSTING. Truly unsettling and an unhealthy environment. We tried using the phone to contact the owners and no one picked up and the message directed us to go to the website. This stay deserves a 100% refund to be honest. The only positive was the lovely and accommodating host at the bar/restaurant who brought a smile, great drinks and decent food.
Johnny was awesome and picked up beautiful flowers and a balloon (last minute request) so it would make a nice surprise for our occasion. Everyone was so unbelievably polite and helpful. The room was clean, charming, and had a beautiful view. The property is awesome...they had fire wood and starter fluid outside by the fire pit and the hot tub was a great surprise. Looking forward to coming back this summer. Thanks again!!!
