The Hampton Inn Monticello generally receives positive reviews, particularly highlighting cleanliness, comfortable accommodations, and friendly staff. However, recent feedback indicates potential management issues and inconsistent service experiences, alongside concerns about breakfast quality and pest control.
Amazing hotel, no complaints!! Pool was nice and warm, room was clean, breakfast was wonderful and workers were friendly :) super close to food and stores too!! Would totally come here again.
The Hampton Inn Monticello is one of the best 3-star hotels in the state of New York. People would come from all over the country to book in a room for a vacation, a wedding, an anniversary, or even a holiday gathering or tournaments. Construction on this location began 12 years ago when the old movie theater in Monticello closed its doors for good when it went bankrupt in the early 2010s, and I watched the work on the building there as I went by it. At last, the Hampton Inn Monticello is finally complete and, along with Resorts World Catskills, attracted tourists to give tourists a view of the serene Monticellonian forests.
This review is entirely for the outstanding Front Desk Manager (sadly I forgother name). We learned the pool was closed when we arrived, but she proactively saved the day by transferring us to the sister hotel with a pool, canceling our stay with no penalty. The lobby was impeccably clean, and the professionalism of the manager indicates this is a highly organized and excellent hotel where I would book a future stay.
Rude and unprofessional manager (Ricky) talks like he’s too annoyed to care/deal with what he’s hired for. Plus the woman who answers the phone is pretty comfortable lying through her teeth to help him avoid taking calls he doesn’t want to take. I asked to speak to him to follow up a conversation I had with him 15min ago and she said he’s left work 1hr ago… Interesting duo you have representing your hotel.
One of the best hotels I have stayed in yet. The bathrooms were clean and up to date and I loved the soft close door. The beds were comfy and breakfast was very good.
UPDATE: HOTEL MGMT REPLIED TO REVIEW HOWEVER HAS NOT REPLIED TO EMAIL. EXPECT BETTER ! As a frequent Hampton guest, I rely on the brand’s consistency and satisfaction guarantee. My recent stay in Monticello fell short. Breakfast was the tip of the iceberg: diluted juice, stale items, warm yogurt, and lukewarm coffee with no creamers or sugar. No fresh fruit or healthy options—basic standards were missing. Only one staff member was working, and while they did their best, the issues pointed to poor management. For the overpriced nightly rate, I expected better. When I raised concerns, I was told “No one else has complained.” I had to request the manager’s contact info. Her reply echoed the same dismissive tone, despite other guests voicing complaints. Dismissing feedback and failing to follow up isn’t just bad service—it undermines trust. Hilton should take this seriously.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hampton Inn, and it was a great relaxing experience. The inn is nestled in a location that offers fresh, invigorating air, providing a refreshing start to each day. One of the highlights of my stay was the delicious hot breakfast, which was not only hearty but also thoughtfully prepared. The convenience of the inn's location cannot be overstated. It is within walking distance to a vibrant shopping area, making it easy to explore local shops and boutiques without the need for transportation. Additionally, the proximity to a Tesla supercharger and gasoline stations added extra convenience for my travel needs.
Been here over a month and the service has been a beautiful experience. I really appreciate the accommodations and hospitality. Next The breakfast Victor the cook was amazing and very helpful. He is a very hard worker. And service was second to none. They know what they are doing over there.
STAY WAS FANTASTIC ! - Super Cleansly Room which me and partner had our own sinks and two clean queen beds - Ordered Uber Eats and the Front Desk manager was kind enough to hold the food for us after we were finished playing - Not a lot of food options around, but TILLY’s DINER is a must have for anyone in the Monticello Region - Breakfast was FANTASTIC starting from omelets with CHEESE, all the way down to toast, waffles (Strawberry or Regular), fresh sausages or bacon. - Had an amazing hike trail within 5 miles of the hotel - Overall 5 Stars and highly recommend anyone who’s in need of a place to stay at night and wake up to a delicious breakfast!
Usually my experience has been good here but this time, there was a random infestation of ants in my bathroom and there was not really a solution outside of me requesting a cleaning liquid and the receptionist was kind enough to provide some towels and cleaning detergent to try and get the ants out but… not quite experience nor solution I would expect from Hampton Inn… Not the type of issues you are needing when staying in a hotel that is not the cheapest , and not quite a happy experience when going to the bathroom… Seems that the rooms are totally booked and there was not an offering of room… anyways, I leave this here more for administration, please check this out and I would recommend a better problem solving process on this plague issue. Thank God is ants…
