Resorts World Catskills receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the casino, spacious rooms, and helpful staff like Tanganyika and Hillary, particularly at the Alder hotel. However, recent feedback highlights significant cleanliness issues, particularly regarding pubic hair in beds and unsanitary pool areas, alongside concerns about poor service at the front desk and a lack of compensation for guests. The casino itself is experiencing a decline in comp offers and slot payouts, and certain amenities, like the pool bar, are frequently unavailable.
I am writing to formally express my deep disappointment with our recent stay at Resorts World Catskills, where my husband and I chose to celebrate our anniversary. Upon arrival, the hotel made a positive first impression. The property appeared attractive, and we were pleased with the quality of the restaurants and the attentiveness of the restaurant staff. Unfortunately, our experience quickly deteriorated. When we visited the pool area, there were no towels available for guests, and the pool itself did not appear to be properly maintained or clean. This was already concerning, but what followed was completely unacceptable. When we returned to our room to rest, my husband and I discovered pubic hair on the beds. This was both shocking and extremely unsanitary. We immediately contacted the front desk, and my husband requested to speak with a manager. The response we received was that there was no housekeeping staff available during the night and that we would need to wait to be moved to another room. For a hotel charging approximately $350 per night, this level of cleanliness and service is entirely unacceptable. A lack of immediate action in response to such a serious sanitation issue demonstrates poor management and a disregard for the comfort and safety of guests. What was meant to be a special anniversary celebration turned into a very disappointing and unpleasant experience. We expected far better standards from a property of this caliber.
This is my third stay at Resorts World Casino in the Catskills and I have always had a great experience. First two times were with my wife and everything was exceptional from the rooms, to the Casino, to the Spa. The most recent stay I was accommodated by Receptionist Julie and Managers Julissa and Libby due to a dilemma with room type. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate our family’s needs, ensuring we had a comfortable room for our stay. I highly recommend Resort World Catskills for anyone seeking a welcoming atmosphere and top-notch service!
This place is underated. It should have more neon light displays leading to the place to make it easier to find. Yes, it's that good. Although I lost BIG money ?, I had so much fun it was worth EVERY penny. The staff is friendly and professional and can take and give jokes. ?. I would love to visit again & lose MORE money ???.. ???!!!
We visied a few weeks ago (December 2025) to celebrate our friends 50th birthday - we wanted some Spa and pool time. Spa was disappointing, but that's for another time. We had a great check-in experience at hotel. Meadow and Libby at the front desk made us feel special and appreciated. They found out we were getting married in 2026 and treated us to extra hospitality. We had a great time at the adult only pool and hot tub. Sat in a cabana, relaxed and enjoyed good conversation. We were really bummed however that the advertised pool bar wasn't actually open. When we asked a staff memeber, who was stationed at the VIP area next to the bar, he replied gruffly and said "I've worked on day shift forever and that bars never been open". He was the least friendliest person we came across. We found most staff to be super polite and helpful. We had to go back down to main floor for drinks, then back up to pool. Total inconvenience. And way, way, too expensive. But we ended up Door Dashing some food and drink so it worked out, and cheaper than hotel prices. Bring your own snacks and drinks for sure! Casino was a big loser for us - nothing seemed to pay out, but it's got a decent amount of slot and table game options. There was a cool bar with a band playing up above - nice visual. Our room was a suite and it was huge! Awesome view and big windows. Clean and tidy, and bug free upon inspection. Some stains and a cigarette burn hole in carpet, but overall nice. Refrigerator with bottled water, and a coffee maker included. Bathroom was fabulous! Great shower with good water pressure. I should mention security measures of needing hotel room key to access the elevators, and you can only access your floor, or the floors for pool, Spa, lobby, etc. We were happy with our overnight stay, and enjoyed our evening! Wish the casino paid out better but isn't that always the way. Hahaha!
I came up from North Carolina; 1. My room was stunning i was on the 11th floor I believe room 1102. The view with the snow was absolutely breathtaking my room was gorgeous. 2. Drinks were definitely over priced definitely put no liquor or very little in the drink. Two Malibu bay breeze was $24 3. The restaurants in there were over priced. Stopped at good friends paid $14 for seseme chicken which was 10 little pieces of chicken with some rice. 4. The cards didn't read the machines, kept reading error. 5. Very small gambling area. 6. No smoking options. Wasn't impressed.
I love this Casino. I go here a lot they offer me free rooms, free play, and food vouchers. I literally win there all the time. The Rooms are very large and they are beautiful rooms. The staff at Hotel and staff on Casino floor are very pleasant and very helpful. I always look forward to staying there. Sometimes I stay 2 nights and when its time to leave I dont want to. Once you get a players card and start playing you will recieve some nice perks. I highly recommend this Casino.
Will never stay at this location again. Big lack of customer service at hotel desk. Was told the wrong thing on the phone when reservation was made that there is no deposit other than the $1 hold u do through email. Got there and that wasn’t true. I Didn’t have the funds on a card for my deposit AFTER I ASKED TO BE SURE TO AVOID this type of situation. Was met with attitude from one specific worker. Not pleased at all. Luckily a manager handled my situation and comprised with me seeing it is on their fault. Also No hot water in the shower. Bathroom floor was left dirty with dirt spots. Room was pleasant besides that, bed was comfortable. The lack of hospitality and being mis informed is why I won’t be back ever.
Never any comp offers for rooms anymore, rarely ever win on slots. Used to get comp offers often and never do anymore. Guess I have to go to other casinos as a result. The property, rooms, and resort are beautiful but when you don’t win and don’t get any comp rooms what’s the point?
This review is specifically for the Awana Spa in the hotel! The gals there truly went above and beyond to offer my best friend and I the loviest experience possible. It was clean, stylish, and so relaxing. The girls at the desk accommodated us right away, even though we didn’t have appointments. My mani/pedi from Shula was wonderful, what a gem of a human. Loved it! The casino itself is clean and fun, as well as our room, and the restaurants are very good! Get the frito misto from the steakhouse - delish!
I came here after the busy summer season, so I probably got a better value than if you're going in middle of the summer. I stayed on the 16th floor with beautiful views of the mountains! I like that the hotel is in a private location but only a few minutes from shopping and other conveniences.
